Customer attendance at a record high for opening day!
The customer attendance was at a all time record for opening day, we handed out ballons to all the kids and flowing trees from the Mo Dept of conservation and seeds to start there own garden. The kids garden is almost full of dirt and they should be able to start planting this Wednesday, all of our vendors will be donating plants to this great project for any child that wants to help out every Wednesday fro 3 till 6:30.
We had 14 vendors on opening day anything from produce to baked items to crafts.
We are a producer only market we do not allow MO grown auction produce at our market. So rest assure what you are buying is from that grower.
We will be signing the kids up for a special mothers day craft. the first 25 kids that sign up.

This is at The Fair Grove Middle School Saturday March 31st from 10am till 2pm.
The Farmers Market will have a drawing every 1/2 hour for a Farmers Market Clock.
So each Market Vendor You visit you will get a ticket for the drawing, That is a total of 7 tickets.
We will have baked goods, breads, cookies, cinnamon rolls, Glueton Free and regular baked Items. Tomatoes and salad produce at this great event. Leah and her famous totrillas will be there.The Market will all so be handing our free cabbage plants. The first 150 people will get one. The Dowells will be there signing up kids for the kids club as well as handing out seeds for your garden. Larry & Josephine Dowell will do a bobbin lace demostration.
Jennifer Farr will be doing a demostration on her pottery wheel.
Kids can make a pottery bird house at this event, the cost is $10.00 per child, this helps cover the cost of materials and the firing. Then they can pick up the bird house at the Farmers' Market on April 18TH. It will have to be fired and painted and Jennifer is taking care of that. So do not miss out on the fun.
We will have sampling of our baked goods and the market table will be full of information.

Tell Deb Vanbenthusen where the market clock is located at the family pharmacy in Fair Grove for a extra ticket for the drawing.
We are getting so excited about this year. Girl Scout troop number 10283. Amanda and Shelby Wadkins,will be earning their Gold Award (eagle scout equivalent)
Amanda and Shelby are going to be orginizing and helping with the NEW Growing with Kids Club GARDEN AT THE MILL this year.
Thanks to baker creek seeds for donating the seeds, this is in the final stages of having a garden this year at the mill for the kids. We have to get final approvel from the historical society, It will be a raised garden. The kids will get to take home what they grow, and the left overs will be taken to the senior center in Fair Grove.
The railroad ties and top soil is being donated all so. I meet with the girls yesterday and they took home the seeds and will be studying them and will decide what they want to plant. Martha Weeks with Iron wood green house will get the tomato and pepper plants started for them. Michelle Wadkins is Shely and Amanda's mother and they have been planting flowers around the mill for the past few years. They planted tomatoe plants last year and donated the tomatoes to the senior center of Fair Grove.
The Growing with Kids Club will be the fisrt 6 weeks of the market.

Janet Shuey of Fair Grove, Mo will be baking and making sweets and breads for the market. I can not wait to try her whoopie pies, Janet will be making applesauce bars, and cookies and brownies.
Diane Yinger from Stafford will be bringing plants and herbs and scented geraniums and berry plants.
Missie Weeks of Fair Grove is our pumpkin vendor and she has her new green house all done and will be selling all sorts of vegetables this year at the market.
Our Market is currently looking to add 3 new produce vendors to our market. So if you are interested in selling at the Fair Grove Farmers' Market please contact me at debsgourds@yahoo.com.
We are still in need of a meat vendor all so.
We will be OPEN Wednesday JULY 4TH.
The Market cafe will be serving beef brisket sandwiches and will have other menu items for sale during market hours.

The Fair Grove Farmers' Market vendors casted a vote and The Market Hours will be 3pm till 6:30 pm this year.
They felt that this would help our customers that need to get to church. And when they pick there kids up from school they can head to the market. We hope this will help you our customers'

The last day for the Fair Grove Farmers' Market is Oct 5Th. We had a very challenging season with the extreme heat cooking the produce on the vines and tree's. It is always sad for me to say good bye to the vendors and customers for the season. The Market will have a free cup a chili at the market for all the customers,(while supply last) prepared by Our Vendors.
It is our way of saying goodbye for the year and Thanking you for supporting our market throughout the year and shopping at the Market.
The market will have local honey and Leah's Tortillas, Sandra's Soaps and lotions and a few tomatoes,
The Blos will be there with there baked breads and goodies. Jennifer Farr with her pottery. Sean with his coffee.
So be sure and stop by and stock up on jams and jellies from Natures Lane. Get your hot peppers for your home made
salsa. I will have pumpkin bread as well as zucchini bread and my cinnamon Jelly.
Mr. & Mrs. Do will be at the market handing out free Forsythia Shrubs while supply last.
