GET READY, BECAUSE FARMERS MARKET SEASON IS ALMOST HERE!
It’s time to abandon the grocery store isles, get outdoors, and start shopping for healthier, fresher food for your family from your local Farmers Market. Our market in Fair Grove, Missouri is a Grower/Producer/Crafter-Only Market and we boast a wide selection of veggies and other foods as well as some of the friendliest vendors in the Ozarks.
Conveniently located on the Historic Wommack Mill Property, our Market features fresh veggies, fruits, local honey, jellies and jams, fresh meats from grain-fed livestock, eggs, and baked goods, all produced or grown by vendors from Fair Grove and the surrounding area. We also have flowering plants and perennials, as well as many hand-made items such as soaps and lotions. As an added bonus, there will be live entertainment at select times throughout the summer.
As a Grower/Producer/Crafter-Only Market, we only sell locally grown or home-made foods and hand-crafted items, and no pre-purchased or factory produced items are allowed. Payment for items can be made in cash, debit, or credit cards.
The Fair Grove Farmers Market has been bringing families and farmers together since 2000. We won the Farmers Market of the Year Award for both 2010 and 2012 and received a USDA Grant in 2015. We are looking forward to another great year with our loyal returning vendors as well as several new ones. Our market is open 3:30 – 6:30 every Wednesday and runs May through September.
A Tidbit About the Mill……….
The Working Steam-Powered Grist Mill, located at the corner of Old Mill Road (Hwy 125) and Main Street in Fair Grove Missouri, was built in 1883 by Clifford Wommack. According to the Fair Grove Historical and Preservation Society, the mill was built of rough-cut oak on a native rock foundation and is Fair Grove’s oldest standing structure. The Mill has been restored fully and is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places. You can find out more about the Wommack Mill by visiting the Fair Grove Historical and Preservation Society’s website, http://www.fghps.org.
