Successful farmers’ markets don’t just happen in the larger metropolitan areas on Saturdays, but they are also nestled in the foothills of the Ozarks. Fair Grove, MO, just 15 miles north of a major metro area-Springfield, has a small but mighty Farmers’ market each Wednesday.
Fair Grove’s Farmers’ Market won the Second Place Award in the 2009 Farmers’ Market of the Year, sponsored by AgriMissouri™ and the Missouri Farmers’ Market Association. and also won

Fair Grove Farmers’ Market (Market DVD)

The Fair Grove Farmers’ Market is located under a pavilion at the Historic Wommack Mill in downtown Fair Grove. With a population of 1,100 and over 30 farmers/vendors participating throughout the season, the market is the community hub on Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m… April 21st 2010  thru October 6Th 2010.
The Market has become a great place for community groups to raise funds for their cause.
The Market setting is unique in that it has a certified kitchen on the grounds, allowing the Market to offer prepared foods. Gary with Hilltop Pizza runs the Market Cafe. He uses as many products from the farmers’ market as possible.

Or maybe it is the Growing with Kids Club that makes our market so unique . All
Kids that sign up get a free plant or seeds to grow there own garden and get
free advice from 2 master gardeners. This all free to the Kids.

Our Market has a lot to offer and it is worth the drive.
The Wommack Mill also rents the pavilion for events, such as weddings, family reunions and so forth. The Wommack Mill, a Greene County and Missouri State historic site, was placed on the National Historic Register as Boegel and Hine Mill. Today it is the focal point of the Fair Grove Ice Cream Social, held each year on the third Saturday of July, and the Fair Grove Heritage Reunion, held each year on the last full weekend of September. It is also a very picturesque backdrop for numerous weddings, family reunions, picnics, meetings and for a quiet visit. 417-759-2807 And our Farmers' Market will have their own booth at the Reunion.

So come and get your Farm fresh vegetables, strawberries, berries and fruits in season, herbs, perennials and annual plants; local honey will be later in the spring, homemade breads, pies, , gourd birdhouses and crafts. Fresh farm eggs, and Beef. From your local Farmers' Market.
